Thomaz did a great job renovating our kitchen. The quality of his woodwork was excellent. After this experience, we hired him to knock down a wall and to renovate our living room, dining room and hallway. After enduring a very long and extremely messy period of building work, Thomasz completed the work generally to a good standard with the acception of our hallway. His plastering was absolutely atrocious and we ended up paying him twice the amount of a professional plaster to fix the work. Worryingly, Thomasz claims that he can do 'everything'- included disconnecting and capping gas pipes without proper accreditation/certification. This is not something that he should attempt to do and it places undue risk on clients. Towards the latter half of the renovation work, disappeared for a week (and was uncontactable during this period). Shortly afterwards, Thomasz returned for a few days and then disappeared for a week. This really messed up what was a tightly sequenced series of jobs (total house renovation). He left us with buckets, rubbish and dust everywhere. In the weeks leading up to his disappearance, Thomaz sub-hired a colleague who continuously turned up late/not at all and/or drunk. After this experience, we decided to hire other contractors to complete the work/s. A few weeks ago, some of the pipework that he installed around the radiator in the dining room began to leak. I contacted Thomaz on several occasions to no avail/response. Overall, Thomaz is a nice person. However, he is extremely unreliable and completes *some* of his wok (e.g. jobs) to a poor standard. He has been unwilling to rectify problems without being paid extra and he does not value good clients in the way that he should. Disappointedly, I would not recommend Tradecontractors4u to friends or family.
